Welcome to the Church Of God In Christ Academy of North Carolina Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction housed at the Upper Room Church of God in Christ, under the leadership and tutelage of Bishop Patrick L. Wooden Sr., Jurisdictional Prelate. Thank you for the opportunity to briefly share with you the mission and vision of North Carolina Third COGIC Academy.

North Carolina Third COGIC Academy exists to magnify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by providing our students with biblical, theological, and practical training using academic material that is designed to facilitate licensure, ordination, and practical training for those who have been called into ministry and laypersons. All of our courses are designed to also serve persons who are pursuing professional development. North Carolina Third COGIC Academy’s courses are tailored to meet the needs of persons seeking knowledge to enhance their educational level and produce meaning and purpose in their personal lives. Most importantly, it is the mission of the Academy to teach our students how to zealously defend the God of the Bible and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Students who complete the two-year curriculum will graduate with a certificate that will enable them to further their ministerial journey. Those who take advantage of electives will find that the time and effort they devote to study will strengthen their spiritual gifts and enhance them biblically, theologically, and personally. All students who commit themselves to participation in the Academy’s programs will experience, among other things, a deeper understanding of doctrine, a foundational understanding of Scripture that they can build upon throughout their ministries, increased confidence in defending the teachings of the Bible, a renewal of their faith in Jesus Christ, and patience as God molds and shapes them into His brand of apologist. In short, North Carolina Third COGIC Academy will compel all who attend to know God as they have never known Him before.
